BISHIBELI HULI ANNA

A single dish tasty meal, from the region of Karnataka, a perfect balance of all tastes, hot and spicy, tangy, and sweet.


A dish consisting of rice and dal, vegetables and spices are loved by Indians in particular. Imagine it’s raining outside and you want to eat something hot and spicy, but equally wholesome, this particular dish will suffice your palate.



INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of rice

  • ½ cup tur dal (Arhar Dal)

  • 2 medium-size potatoes

  • ½ cup green peas

  • ¼ cup jaggery

  • ½ cup Tamarind pulp


INGREDIENTS FOR MASALA

  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds (Dhana)

  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)

  • 1” Dalchini (Cinnamon)

  • 5-6 peppercorns (kalimiri)

  • 3-4 cloves (lavang)

  • 1 teaspoon Urad dal (black gram dal)

  • 1 teaspoon Chana dal ( Gram Dal)

  • 3-4 dry red chili

  • 7-8 curry leaves ( Kadhipatta)

  • 2 whole Elichi (Cardamom)


INGREDIENTS FOR TADKA

  • ½ cup veg.oil

  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds (Mohori)

  • ½ teaspoon Hing (Asaefodita)

  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)

  • ¼ cup of raw peanuts

  • 1 tablespoon salt
