Indian Curries for NRI students
Are you going abroad for studies? I am sure you will miss your mother’s cooking.So here I bring you two Indian curries , which you can make with less ingredients and readily available in all countries. Don’t worry if you have not cooked before, I am sure you will get hang of making these curries instantly.
Serves around three helpings , accompanied by either white rice or bread.
Each curry could take about 15 to 20 mins .
RED CURRY
Ingredients
2 medium-size tomatoes
3 medium-size potatoes
1” Ginger piece
1 green chilli
1Tsp pure Ghee (clarified butter)
1 ½ tsp salt
1 Tbsp coriander powder
1 Tbsp cumin powder
1 ½ tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
3 cups of water
GREEN CURRY
1 cup grated coconut
3 green chillies
4 pods of garlic
½ “ ginger
½ cup coriander leaves
2 cups of frozen mix vegetables
1 big potato
1 big onion, or 2 medium
2 tomatoes
Few curry leaves
1 ½ tsp salt
2 Tbsp veg oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp asafoetida ( Hing)
½ tsp turmeric powder
