Schezwan sauce or chutney as we Indians call it is basically a hot, sweet, and tangy mixture of ingredients used in many dishes, right from rice, noodles, salads, or as a spread on bread.

You can find various methods of making this sauce, but my version of making this sauce is a very simple, hassle-free method. Especially Indian students who thrive to eat hot and spicy food will find this recipe easy to make and store. Practically they can add this sauce in instant noodles and rice while making a single-dish meal. It works as a perfect dip for chips or chakli, or as a topping on salted biscuits like Monaco. Just add this sauce to cooked rice and your meal is ready.

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup cut ginger

  • ½ cup peeled garlic

  • ½ cup veg oil

  • ½ cup dry red chilies

  • ¼ cup tomato ketchup

  • ¼ cup tomato puree

  • 1 ½ tablespoon sugar

  • 1 ½ teaspoon salt (you can add or reduce salt according to your taste)
