SHEVAYAANCHA UPMA

When you hear word UPMA instantly you associate it with RAWA Upma (Semolina), This particular dish I have prepared with VERMICELLI i.e Shevaya we call in Marathi. It’s a very easy dish to make and can be eaten in Breakfast, Mid-Day snack or some also eat it as Dinner. It is a single dish consisting of vegetables, spices, nuts, and Vermicelli (good source of carbohydrates) and a perfect balance of salt and sugar. Loved by people of all ages.



INGREDIENTS


  • 2 cups Shevaya ( VERMICELLI)

  • 1 big chopped Onion

  • 1 cup green peas

  • 4-5 green chili

  • ½ cup grated Coconut

  • 8-10 Curry leaves

  • 1 tablespoon pure Ghee (clarified butter)

  • 1 tablespoon veg oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds

  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds

  • ½ teaspoon Hing (Asafoetida)

  • 1 tablespoon urad dal (black gram dal)

  • ¼ cup Cashunuts (Kaju)

  • ½ lemon

  • ½ teaspoon sugar

  • 1” ginger

  • ¼ cup coriander leaves
