Cheesecake is not actually a cake. This dessert is a sweet-tart made up of soft, fresh cheese, cream, sugar, and eggs. The distinguishing element of cheesecake is the base or bottom layer which is made from crushed cookies, biscuits, crackers, or sometimes pastry. The first cheesecake was created in Greece. Centuries later, cheesecakes made their way into America. The original American cheesecake wasn’t invented until the late 1800s.

The recipe in my video does not contain eggs and the gelatine used is vegetarian variety. There is no baking involved. Assembling of layers is easy and one need not be a great cook to make this recipe.

Cheesecake has to be stored in the refrigerator and consumed cold, unlike a regular cake. The smooth creamy texture along with crumbly crust makes the cheesecake unique.

Practically loved by all, cheesecake has a special place in the list of desserts.
